Do rats make good pets?

I've thought about getting a rat. Just wondered if they are as cool as people say! Like....do they snuggle with you? or are they more on the hyper side?Do rats make good pets?
They're good pets, and tend to act better when they have a Companion, or just a friend rat.


(if you buy a rat, get two)


If a rat has a friend that they will always be with besides the owner, they tend to have better behavior, and are always more happy.


i think two females will be easier for a first time rat owner.


But rats are hard work too, but i think they will make good pets.





BUT, i think bunnies would make even greater pets.


i own two bunnies, and they are loyal, kind, gentle, and full of excitement in almost every way.


if you want them to be calm and relaxed, fine! bunnies will instantly change their mood so you can pet them.


if you want bunnies to be energetic, just motivate them, and they'll be as hyper as ever!





But overall, that's just my opinion.


and what ever animal you decide to get,


DO NOT GET IT/THEM FROM A PET STORE.


pet stores get their animals from pet mills/ puppy mills


(search on google)


and the pets from pet stores are prone to more health issues because of the bad conditions in which they were raised in.


PLEASE get your pet(s) from an animal shelter near you.


50% of animals at animal shelters are put down because they could not find a home in the required amount of time.


you could help reduce that number.


but if you CANT get it from an animal shelter,


just get it from a breeder.
