neither dogs have papers and I am not out to make alot of money just want them to have a good home and be able to pay for vet costs and for shots and food and time caring for puppies. I have 3 females and 1 male.I have a chihuahua/rat terrior that just had puppies with a purebred chihuahua What is a fair price to charge?
No more than $75 per pup. That should cover the upkeep cost for the pups.
Or you could find out how much it would cost to spay your female, divide that by four, and charge that amount per pup.
For example, if a spay costs $150, it would equal to $37.50 per pup.I have a chihuahua/rat terrior that just had puppies with a purebred chihuahua What is a fair price to charge?
if you want to get them a really good home sell them for 250 that person would appreciate them more and not treat them like bought garbage if you want to get rid of them quickly sell at 75. if there not selling at 250 lower it to 150.
good luck
Here is how the pound in my city does it...
You initially pay $75 to take the dog (that covers the basic medical costs and cost for housing/food until adopted out.) Once you agree to adopt the dog, you sign a written contract stating that you will have the animal fixed. When that has been done and you have proof from the vet, you can return to the shelter to get a $50 refund.
I would highly suggest you do something along these lines. It's a nice incentive to get people to get their new companion fixed, you get to keep track of the new owners (make sure they really have the dog's best interest in mind,) and you do get a bit of money to cover the vet costs.
since there mix id say about 250 im not to sure
since they are mutts, just enough to cover the cost of spaying your poor dog.
Why aren't your dogs fixed already? You should charge the amount of shots and spay/neuter for each puppy, no more and no less. Make sure the people adopting your dogs aren't going to bring more puppies into the world and add to the dog/cat overpopulation problem and amount of animals in shelters who are euthanized. Be a responsible pet owner and fix your dogs.
Maybe $100 - $200 each.
I wouls say, $200 to $250
