My cat was outside just today, scratching at the door. When I opened it, to my shock, she was carrying a struggling gopher or something like that. It ran around the kitchen with my cat giving chase. Mousetrap - you can get the humane kind that don't hurt the animal and you can carry it back outside to let it go. My cat did that one time with a bird - she had injured it but it was still able to flop about - not really fly - it was quite a trick to corner that bird and get it out of the house.
