Why do cats hates mice or rats?

Basic predator and prey relationship. Foodchain and all that! Why do cats hates mice or rats?
i guess because it's in their dna.Why do cats hates mice or rats?
Of course they don't hate them, they love them. For dinner.
Because they're small and they scurry?

I suppose it's all from the times before Cats were completely domesticated, and people owned semi-wild cats, which had to completely fend for themselves. The rats and mice were the only things in surplus that the cats could catch.
You surely do not hate the food you eat. Rats and mice are a food source for cats; they do not hate them, they love them!!
dogs pick on cats, cats then have to pick on something smaller and weaker to make them feel better about it, so the mice get it! :p
they dont hate them, they like to play with things, its not just food source as even a well fed cat will chase mice...mice/rats and birds move and cats like to chase them..after theyve killed them they soon lose interest.

if you wave a bit of string or roll a small ball around, cats will chase it.Its the same thing, is all to do with the movement.Obviously theyre not stupid enough to try chase something bigger than themselves like a dog

some experts believe that cats are autistic, maybe finding out more info about that will lead to understand cats behaviour more...not that im saying people with autism chase mice...im just talking characteristics
Why is there no mouse flavoured cat food?
they dont hate em they love em especially with barbeque sauce lol
they dont hate them they like to play with them but mice and rats arent as strong as cats...
It is all to do with the foodchain!

Big cats like lions and tigers go for smaller prey,

Dogs go for cats,

Cats go for mice

Mice go for grubs and your fingers if your not quick enough!
they dont. they see them they see food and since this food doesnt keep still they have to givw chase :-)
Cats do not hate mice or rats they see them as a source of protein
cats hate mice because the mice ate all the mice krispies.
Its in their genes from their feral days - I dont think there is a ';what species to dislike 101'; for kittens
Cats does not hates rodents. it is just the normal behavior of the natural predator of the cat. cat belongs to the cat family “felidae” of the meat-eating animals including tigers, lions and leopards

this natural behavior has been used by men from possibly 3500 B.C. first by Egyptian whom tamed the wildcat from Africa, and once domesticated they prevented the overrunning in houses, farms and grain storehouses of mice and snakes by killing them

Romans valued cats for their ability to control rodents. Then domestic cats spreads to the middle East through Asia. in the far west cats was used to protect manuscripts from be destroyed by mice and for prevent mice to attack silkworm cocoon, from which silk it is made. in Europe during middle ages, cat was considered evil symbol. superstitious people did kill hundreds of thousands cats . Experts believe that the destruction of so many cats lied in huge increase of the rat population of Europe and contributed to the spread of the BLACK DEATH which it is transmitted to people by fleas, killed about a fourth of the people who lived in Europe during the 1300’s . By 1600’s Europeans did realize once again the importance of cats controlling rodents.. Europeans colonist took cats with them and brought them to America during XVI, XVII AND XIX CENTURIES. the cats those we have now are descendents from those cats.
They don't.

Cats are predators and mice/rats are game to eat.
I just don't know. I think cats are ';hard wired'; to chase rodents.

I call my cat a FAV........( Feline Assault Vehicle ) When she gets her gunsights on something, she assaults it!

It's just their nature.
Hate them? They don't hate them...they love them. To a cat, a mouse is dinner or, at the very least, entertainment.
They hates those meeces to pieces, don't they ?
They don't hate them they just see them as moving food. Its natural instinct as cats are predators, mice, rats and other small birds and animals are just part of the food chain below them.
if it happened the other way around, i.e. mice or rats hate cats, the last statement will be a nonsensical! The the truth is that the cats hate mice or rats
