Where can I find a good vet to safely neuter my pet rat in Chicago?

I'm looking for a skilled vet familiar with rodents to neuter my rat. Any suggestions?Where can I find a good vet to safely neuter my pet rat in Chicago?
If you have access to long-distance transportation, Fox Lake Animal Hospital is amazing. You can schedule a routine surgery without a checkup, and their prices are really cheap and they are honest about how much they charge you.

Here is the contact info:

I know this is really far from Chicago, but if you can get there, they are a great vet. People come from Indiana and Ohio to get their pets to him!Where can I find a good vet to safely neuter my pet rat in Chicago?
you DO need to neuter rats if you don't want them to become more territorial and/or downright mean. male rats change when they become big boys... female rats remain the same pretty much but the boys sure don't! my baby has changed on me already and i'm looking for a good vet as well.

Well, the thing is, is that you really don't need to neuter a rat. Rats aren't a very long-term pet that lasts for twenty years, like a dog or cat could. The annual lifespan of a rat is about 3 to 4 years at the most. It would be unnecessary to neuter a pet rat. It would also be very hard on the rat to be able to recover from that type of major surgery and could put alot of stress on it. What were your plans for the rat?
