What is the best type of Rat poison? One that works quickly and painlessly?

I have a rodent problem. But I don't want the rats and mice to suffer. I need something that kills them with in a few mins or less and does not cause too much pain.

I am a nice guy and don't want to hurt them.

What is best to use? DDT, Sionide, or what? How quick does it work? What is the best type of Rat poison? One that works quickly and painlessly?
All poisons take time to work and are quite painful for the rodent. The quickest most painless way of killing them is with traps. One other thing about poisons is where they die.The carcasses end up in walls and crawl spaces where they begin to decompose and stinking up the place.Using traps makes it easy to dispose of the dead body.Rats will avoid cyanide and DDT is an insecticide and does not work on rats very well.Wafarin is an anticoagulant that has been used with good success but it only works if the rats eat the food containing it.Just put peanut butter on a regular spring trap and listen for the snap.
