How can I get my pet rat to become friendly and social with me?

I got him a few months ago and I've tryed numerous things. I put his cage in a playpin and tryed coaxing him out with treats many times, putting my hand flat on the floor of his cage and nothing seems to work. PLLLEEAASEE help me =)How can I get my pet rat to become friendly and social with me?
Rats can become very territorial and if so the best way to get your rat familiar with you is OUT of its own enviornment, try getting him out and putting him in a room where you can play with him and he cant get lost or hurt always have a small bowl of food down so he knows he is still around the same enviornment, DO NOT HAVE HIS CAGE IN SIGHT!!! this will deter him from spending time with you, he will only want to go back to his cage!How can I get my pet rat to become friendly and social with me?
rats dont usually just jump into your hands and cuddle with you rate away, you need to earn his attention by holding and playing with him, and hand feeding him veggies eg, lettuce, carrots, my rats perfer these thing called nutra puffs (they smell like cotton candy)

Just try to get him to feel comfortable with you. Try hand feeding him and try letting him out of his cage a lot, and try putting something that has your scent in his cage.
Feed him his favorite food by hand.

EWWW pet rat !!! Grosss! but i would say just holding him a lot and petting him would do the trick.
pet him ever so softly and sweetly. than put on some romantic music. light a few candles. there you go! works every time.
just keep on training him
buy him a Minny tv and play some rat porn
