How often should i give my rat a bath?

i usually stick to once a week but lately she has been getting dirty, and i clean the cage once a week. How often should i give my rat a bath?
A female rat hardly never needs a bath, they clean themselves but should only be given a bath if you are showing them or if their coat gets stained-and even then, most can be wiped clean,

but I hoped this helped, you pretty much already have all the good answers you need-Good luck! How often should i give my rat a bath?
You really shouldn't be bathing her very often. Her own cage shouldn't be making her dirty if it's being kept clean.
THEY KEEP THEIR SELVES CLEAN SO TWICE A MONTH
Once a week is too much. You will end up drying out the skin(by removing natural oils). Try cleaning the cage more often. I used to clean mine twice weekly, and disinfect cage, toys, bowls, etc, twice monthly.

I only bathed my rats when completely necessary, at most once a month.
rats themselves really don't need bathed because they clean themselves - kind of like cats. However, you can bathe them with special shampoo found in most pet stores - but bathe them sparingly (once every two weeks or so)
You only clean her cage ONCE a week?? Okay my rats are extremely clean because-

A) They have a fresh cage (clean litter, clean water) EVERY DAY.

B) Their seed is changed every three days

C) Everything Including the seed container is scrubbed once a week.

D) They wash each other

Note- Rats are naturally clean creatures. Don't make them live in a mess. They will be much happier and healthier if they are supplied with a clean place to eat and sleep. Rats are a big responsibility, so try and fulfill it.
Wow I never gave my rats a bath. They are pretty good at cleaning themselves. If you keep the cage clean then they do they rest okay. I would think too much washing would dry out their skin really bad.
Once a week is to often for bathing. it will dry out the natural oils in her skin. try just wiping her down with a cloth.
Dont give her a bath. Water on a rodents fur can make it sick. Rats bathe themselves.
You shouldn't because rats are supposed to be dirty. Anyways, why a rat? why not a hamster?
