Why are rats so darn tough?

I have shot both with air rifles and have seen that rats need perfect shot placement while as bunny just go down every time regardless of shot placement... Why are rats so darn tough???Why are rats so darn tough?
They aren't. They are asking themselves right now, ';Why do you have such wimpy air guns?';Why are rats so darn tough?
It is called evolution, for thousands of years these critters have survived because they evolve and become stronger. They can live anywhere from a rich man's mansion to the dirty filthy sewers. Also there nervous system is less sensitive to trauma and they can run after being shot several times without being fazed by the shots. People have accidentally stepped on rats and somehow these critters keep on running.
I've helped my brother in law exterminate rats in a house he ';flipped'; in 2005. The tenant was not evicted until the day before the closing. They trashed the place. It went for $17,000. The owner was deceased, no children so his brother got it. These people just threw their garbage down the stairs. It took 15 yard dumpster 3x between the basement, carpet, abandoned furniture, etc. We had rats like you wouldn't believe.

They would die for the 22 cal pistol, about 80% of the time. They would die about 95% of the time for me too. I'd follow up with the pistol. We'd fill a 5 gallon bucket with corpses. It was gross. Because they were cheap, we'd use Daisy Pointed pellets.


Typically shots were made at 10-15'. Long after the house was clean we still were shooting and poisoning rats during the renovation. I hate rats.
Maybe for a bb gun but, a 22lr will blow them to bits.
