Is it legal to have a rat trap outside my home?

I hear crawling in the walls of my home. I've set traps inside but just in case the rat has found an opening in the home I would like to put a trap outside too. But I don't want a wandering cat or dog to get hurt.Is it legal to have a rat trap outside my home?
Most professional exterminators use a device that holds poison that only the rats can get to, out of doors. The opening to the device is too small for dogs, cats, and other creatures to access. Give one a call, it's worth it to be safe.





We have many orange trees, (and animals,) on our property and rats have been a problem outside in the past, we have used these devices successfully.Is it legal to have a rat trap outside my home?
